Back to Business

These are difficult times, and we are all having to adapt to the current environment, whether it be as a key worker keeping the country running or a family sticking indoors for weeks on end. It is not easy whoever you are, so anything we can do to help each other is more important than ever.

Clap for carers, call someone you haven’t spoken to for a while, do the shopping for a neighbour or have an online party, anything we can do to help motivate each other makes a big difference to our wellbeing.

Peel Park Fisheries has been closed since the 24th March as our suppliers closed down, but we know a tasty meal is just what our key workers need after a long shift, and can give some variety to families in isolation.

We have now sourced alternate suppliers, so are able to re-open, but with some limitations. The government’s guidelines say that we should only accept online and telephone orders. We already use Just Eat to provide a delivery service, and have set up an easier way for us to handle telephone orders, so we hopefully have everything in place.

We did have suppliers organised earlier, but decided that there would likely be more orders than we could safely manage over the Easter weekend, so made the decision to remain closed until the bank holiday weekend was over.

We are limiting our opening hours, to ensure we can serve the food our customers want when it is most needed, but allowing us time to keep the shop running smoothly without over stretching ourselves.

We will be insisting on card payments only, we know this will cause an issue for some, but feel it is the safest way for everyone.

We are also limiting the menu slightly, in that we will not be selling pies. These have to be prepared individually and can take us away from other duties which would result in fewer people being served.

We ask that customers follow the government advice and order either via Just Eat or telephone. We have created a serving area just inside the door and will ask customers to come into the shop when their order is ready to be collected.

If all goes well and our supplies keep up, we intend to continue these operations for the foreseeable future, but will adapt as needed should the government guidance change or the methods need adjustment. Whatever happens we will do whatever we can to provide the food you love.
