It is a very difficult time for us all, and we are all doing what we can.
Here at Peel Park Fisheries we re-opened 2 weeks ago, expecting to be quieter than normal, but have actually been busier. This leaves us questioning what to do for the best. We have cut our hours already and have removed some items from our menu, but we cannot keep up with demand.
On the first week we had to close early on Friday as we just couldn’t handle the volume of customers, this week – despite preparing more fish than I have ever had before, we ran out.
I appreciate that very few traditional fish & chip shops are open at the moment, and we are pleased to hear that others are planning to re-open.
We have decided to reduce our hours further, so we will be opening 11:30 to 1:30 and 4:30 to 7:30 Tuesday to Friday and 11:30 to 3 on Saturday. Hopefully on Friday the break will allow us to recoup and re-stock ready for the evening shift.
We would urge customers with larger orders to place them on Just Eat, where you can opt for delivery or collection. If you cannot do this please come to the shop, where we will take your order and ask you to queue while we prepare it. We will not be taking telephone orders, as this takes one of us away from serving customers.
Thank you for your understanding.
