When we re-designed our menu last year I wanted to give people more choice – so they could have what they wanted, how they want it. Over the year I have followed what products are purchased, and found that some of the items are not as popular as others. Additionally a few customers have mentioned that it can be difficult to see what they are looking for on the price board.
This year, to solve both issues, I have re-designed the price board and menu to be simpler, while still offering what you want.
To the top left are the regular items, Fish & Chips, Cake & Chips, etc. with the small meal deal at the bottom where you get a small Fish & Chips with a teacake or small sauce for a bargain price. On the top right are the butties, and below is the option to ‘Make it a Special’, this way any of the butties can be made into a Butty Special where we add a handful of chips and a splash of sauce to make a snack so much more!
The sauces are as they were before, but you now have the choice of a Splash of sauce (1 ladle) poured onto your food, a small tub or a large tub. Finally we have all the individual items listed at the bottom of the board, so you can pick and choose what you want and make up a meal that suits you!
Of course as time goes on the cost of our supplies rise, and although we have held off for a couple of months longer than our other shops, we have had to increase our prices as well. We have kept our prices as keen as possible, with most items going up by no more than 10p, and we are still cheaper than any other shop in the area!
